Not really asking for honey holes jus the right direction. Will be making a trip to missouri and possibly Tennessee. I just don't know where to really start at. If anyone would chime in by message or openly I can give you some good advice on where to hunt in mississippi or missouri. Thanks

Im Missouri , the Mark Twain National Forest has plenty of land and turkeys. In Tennessee , Land Between the Lakes , Natchez Trace are good. Also some good public land just South of Nashville.

I knew I was headed to Tennessee this spring for the start of the season, but did not know where.  Found out that the area we will be hunting is close to Natchez Trace State Park.  I'm looking to cover my bases in case the property we are hunting turns out to be a bust.  Anyone willing to share info about public land opportunities in that area, or more info on Natchez Trace?

Check this out and see if it helps
Plus you can google tva lands maps and they have many areas along the tn river that can be hunted but you need a boat to access these areas but be careful and make sure that you don't accidentally end up on a WMA refuge

I bear hunt in the cherokkee ,and the mast I saw was unbelievable. Whit all the hogs in the area I wouldn't put a lot of faith in mast this time of year. What side of the cherokkee do you hunt?

Yanahli WMA is in the area of the state with the most turkeys and even novice hunters limit out there so I would go there.

Hey thanks for the recommendations fellers.  We will be in the general vicinity of some of those WMA's when we are in TN, so we might just look into trying one of them while we are there.  Are there any unusual regulations that apply to the WMA's that we might not get out of the hunting regulations booklet?

Aedc wma's hunts  are Fri. Sat. Sun. Only I think also I believe your not allowed to carry a pistol even with a permit as I understand it

If your heading from MS to MO, the NW corner of TN has a few good WMAs, have a couple of friends that hunt that area. Pick up a copy of TN Hunting and Trapping guide, page 41, they are all listed. Can't tell you the best one, its a crap shoot from day to day anyway. Be sure to have your handgun carry permit with you if your packing  :icon_thumright: I don't believe they are Fed controlled, but will be stated no handguns when entering. Check with the locals they will know for sure.  :anim_25:
