This is a big Jake bone with a goose bone for a mouth piece. I don't know how to do the nice wraps that a lot of wing bone makers do on there wings. but with putting the little goose bone down in the big middle bone i came up with something that works very well and centers the little goose bone right in the middle of the big middle bone and make a big difference in the sound. If you want to hear it outside go to my facebook page and see the video.
And with no lathe i just took a sanding block and made cork lip stops for my calls and was wishing i could make them look a little better and easier to do. well I was talking to Austy and he said you got a drill, yes i got one, he told me how to make a little lathe to get me by tell i can get something better, and it works very well.

That looks good Wingboneman. I have been trying to find a way to do that for myself as well. Good idea.

Very Nice looking Wingbone Curtis and it sounds just as good from what I heard on the video. I am more than glad that I was able to offer you a suggestion on an easier way for you to make your lip stops for your calls a little nicer and more uniformed looking. Both of those corks on that call look just as good as ones I've done on a lathe so put that drill to work. I'm also glad to see that someone else SCGobbler picked up on that suggestion, glad it helps. Just about everybody has a drill or a drill press in their work shop so all you need is and arbor (Bolt shank) or something similar that you can drill the lip stop and press it onto the arbor turn on the drill and shape using some sandpaper. That's exactly what I was thinking would do it for you and glad I was able to help you out. Them bones are drying!!!!!

I found a role of emery cloth and that works very good. can make about any shape i want, made a acorn for the next one, getting high class now
But one thing for sure centering that bone up with out it touching the center bone is what im going to do from now on.
them bones dry yet???

Curtis, I got a tip from another call maker on this, i use my lathe after I drill the initial hole I mount it between centers on a sterling fishing rod ferule and turn on the lathe the use my dremel tool with a sanding drum to make the shape. Works great for me, love your idea though especially for guys who don't have a lathe to work with...pappy
