I am at the UGA hotel/convention center in Athens, attending the southeast deer study group meeting. I have made several meetings over the years. They are held in a different state each year. I can't wait to here the presentations about the deer research being done across the southeast.

Enjoy all Athens has to offer, besides the bulldog crap. It's a great city with a lot to do and see, especially downtown. It's about 35 minutes from me and when the wife goes shopping she would rather go there than Atlanta.

Will John Bowers be speaking at your conference? He is the top biologist in the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and a very nice guy. To stir up controversy you should ask how come the state legislators establish the game bag limits and not the DNR, who establishes the various game seasons.

A UGA grad would spell "hear" properly.  ;D ;D

There is a lot of good stuff in and around Athens.  I've always like City Bar just to sit and have a drink and chat, but it does not have the outdoor seating and view of lovely footmobiles that some other places have.

Hugh Acheson has some nice restaurants there, and Last Resort is good too.

No one would ever say "bulldog crap" except yankee transplants and jealous people not smart enough to get into UGA that have to settle for Ga. Southern and other lame colleges.  ;D

Well I guess I'm a yankme transplant. Moved here in '89 from Tennessee, been a die hard Vol fan my entire life. I graduated high school and college here. Met and married my wonderful wife who's a die hard dawgs fan. Her grandfather played fullback for the dogs back in the leather helmet days. Being 35 minutes from Athens and married into a dawg family I hear about "dem dawgs" all year long but I'm used to it.  And you're right, I probably couldn't get into UGA but did graduate from the harvard of the south, Georgia State  :-X
