I have shot both just wanting to see which is used most? Might play with these again I have 9 different chokes for rem. I'm shooting longbeards this year but like to mess with patterning

I have a couple of boxes of the Red 3" 2oz #6's .....Those do somewhere around 135-145 in the 10" @ 40 for me.  I really like that load too!!!

I have some of my chokes listed in pattern section under 11-87 bunch of chokes. I wonder which choke would do best with these in #5 and #6

As Forrest Gump would say,my old 1100 3" magnum and the (red) XX magnum shells are like peas and carrots.
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

Better patterns out of Win XX 3/2/6's than the HV 3/ 1 3/4/ 6's. More shot and a little slower velocity seems to make for tighter patterns out of my guns. Killed allot of turkey's with the Win Super-X           3/ 1 7/8 / 6's. Close 2nd, red shell as well.

I've killed alot of birds with the HV shells, but I always liked the idea of trying the old red double-x loads out of curiousty.

I get better patterns out of the cheap Graybox shells (3-1&7/8-6) than with the HV or XX shell (26" 1187)

Hard to beat the performance/ price of those Win Super X. For 9.99, it's about the best bang for the buck when it comes to Winchester lead.

My brother and I have tried both. He shoots a Browning Maxus 28" barrel with a kick's choke and his gun likes the red shells better. I shoot a 20 inch Remington supermag with a kick's .665 choke and my gun likes the black shells best. We both get about 100 pellets in 10 in circle at 40 yards, I cant wait to try the new long beard loads.
