Choke suggestions for Ithaca 37 Turkey Slayer (Kings Ferry,NY build)

I bought a used , like new Ithaca Turkeyslayer 12 ga. 3" gun last year.  It came with what I believe was the factory extended turkey choke for this gun....non ported , no markings, no ports. If I remember correctly it's a .670  It is standard Invector thread.

I haven't found any load that patterns acceptably with this choke.  I tried a Wrights .660  choke also but it is too tight for this gun.
I think .670 is probably a good number for this gun but am not sure what to try next.

Does anyone have one of these and if so what choke/load combo works for you?

Thanks in advance.

Things such as barrel length and what loads you have tried could help in getting more replies. If you were using shells such as Hornady for patterning someone should be able to help you there. :z-twocents:

Using last years  Mag Blends, last years Fed. Turkey thugs 6's.  All Turkeyslayers are 3" chamber. Also tried Win Super XX Lead 6's (red shell).  Barrel is standard Turkeyslayer 24".

All shells and patterns were not up to hunting standards...big holes, very uneven, very low pellet counts at 40 yds (like in the 50's-to 70's) ...I think it's the choke.

Barrel deep cleaned and polished. Patterning done in 60-70 degree weather almost no wind.

Really what I am looking for is input from someone who owns the same gun to see what is working for them.

Needless to say this gun stayed warm and dry in my gunsafe last season while BPS 10, 835, 935 and Stoeger 3500 saw action.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! It's tough to get feedback on a gun they didn't make many of.

She's a looker though...maybe I'll post a pic of her later...she's dipped in Mathews Lost Camo like my bow and wearing a Tru Glo Magnum Gobble Stopper Red Dot, camo and camo Claw sling.

Mine works well with a couple of different chokes.

1. .670 Trulock shooting 3" Hevi 2oz #6's, 3" Hevi 2oz #7's
2. .675 Indian Creek shooting 3" Hevi 2oz #6's, 3" Hevi 2oz #7's, Winchester Supreme Elite Extended Range #6's, and Nitro 3" 1-7/8oz #7's.
3. .660 Indian Creek shooting Winchester HV 1-3/4oz #6's.

I have not done a lot of testing with lead loads, and quite frankly no real testing of any kind in the last year or so. More so just a couple of shots to make sure I'm still on, and the patterns are as I remember.
