  Thanks to everyone's help I've got the Pic rail and mount figured out. Have one other question for you
FF3 owners. Is the guard for the sight a necessity, I don't mind buying it, just don't know if it's actually
Needed.
  What are some of you owners experiences.

Thanks, Roy

Necessity = NO

it is nice though and adds a piece of mind for an expensive site.  I have used mine for 2 hard seasons and don't use a guard and have not had any issues.  i may end up with one at some point but you definitely don't "NEED" one

Not necessary, but I just ordered one, too much time & money invested to risk damage.

I also travel with a bore sight and check the FF III upon arrival...

  Great advice guys, that's about what I thought, not a necessity but definitely worth having. Now the bore sight, never thought of that. I've never used a scope of any kind before so I have several tricks to learn.
  Anything else I need to know. I believe I can get it sighted in with no problem. The instructions in the
Sticky above are great. But what about the sight itself, anything to watch out for there.

Thanks, you guys have been great.

I didn't with mine, but it comes down to personal preference. It is peace of mind, so I understand why some guys go with them.
If I ever damaged mine, I have a FFII as a backup while the FFIII goes in for repairs.
As far as sighting in, they are a breeze. I shot mine at 10 yards with low brass, adjusted the dot from where I was aiming, to where it was hitting, shot another low brass round to confirm. Then I moved to 30, and touched off a turkey round. Pattern was dead center. Shot one more at 40, and was done. Easiest sight I have ever had as far as setup. The click adjustments made all the difference from the FFII to the FFIII.
