Not sure if this the proper forum for this question, new to OG. Have been experimenting, could use your thoughts, comments or suggestions.  :help: I'm sure there is someone here that has a history with muzzle loading shotgun.

Two thoughts in mind. I set an AimPoint 9000SC on my TK2000 (took it off my ML pistol) to give it a feel and "0" in. Only needed a couple of clicks down and called it good. I set targets at 30 and 40 yards. 100 grains of T7 were used with all shot. Fired: 2 oz #5 lead, 2 oz 5&4 mixed lead, 2 oz 5&6 mixed lead, 1-3/4 oz #6 Hevi shot. All were with 2-1/2" Knight wads and caps, choke is as supplied with the TK, believe the tightest they produce. Any smaller in dia you would have to remove the choke to install the wad. Made no difference at 30 with any shot type ....... Devastating anywhere from 24 low to 39 high in head/neck/spine area. At 40 the pattern falls off rapidly 7 low to 14 in same area. All good kill shots for sure. Could not choose the best over all shot, didn't make a lot of difference in the pattern. Now here's my thought, would like your input guys. Speaking to an old time re-loader, he suggest I try (and will supply a few) a steel shot wads 2"  (he tells me they are not slit) "but" to cut down only a 1/3 >1/2 of the way NOT all the way like most. At 10 > 20 you're basically shooting a slug, won't start to spread until that range. He thought the 5s in lead are still OK but may want to swap to 6s because of the wad length or drop down to 1-3/4 oz. virtually all the recover wads were at 30 > 35 yards. May be some sound advice here in order to hold a tight pattern out at 40 possible 45/50 yards. Your thoughts guys, I'm willing to give it a "shot". Would like some more range time with the TK anyway so won't be a waste.
