Anyone got opinions on the speed bead mount Specificly on a sbe2 steady grip (any reviews are fine just looking people who have used it)

I am thinking of moving my ff3 to the speed bead mount instead of the receiver mount.  Just not sure how well they work and hold zero

I had a speedbead on my Maxus and it did not work well at all. I had problems with running out of adjustment and not holding zero. I have an aimpoint on my sbe2 and given my experience with the Speedbead and recoil with a SBE i would not use one on the sbe.  I would stick with the receiver mount and a good red dot like the trijicon rmr or an aimpoint. Good luck

A good friend of mine got one for his maxus we had the same problems you had. I would not mount it with a speed bead. it might be different on the SBE2

I have a speed bead mounted to my SBE 2 with steady grip stock without any problems.  Holds zero and works great.  I prefer the speed bead mount based on the fact that you can still see down the rib of the shotgun to see the factory bead to shoot if needed.  With a red dot mounted on top of the receiver in the traditional manner you loose this ability. Worked well for me when I forgot to turn speed bead on when a Rio came running in on my set up.  Thanks to being able to see the factory bead he didn't make it out.  Just my experience, but I love mine and you can't beat Burris for customer service.

I put a Speedbead on my Stoeger P350. It was NOT easy to install it, I'll say that. To get it zeroed in was difficult too. The adjustment ran out on the standard mount, and I added the 1/8th adjustment plate, but it wasn't enough with that either. Finally added the 1/4" plate to the 1/8" AND that was enough.

TO BE VERY CLEAR, I think this outfit is awesome. I've noted a couple things that might put off the potential buyer, however, don't let that stop you from buying this rig, as it was all well worth it for me. I love it.

The tiny screw driver that comes with it for adjustment to windage and elevation isn't large enough & if you aren't careful IF will strip the screw face very easy.

When shooting, it is great. I like that the light gets on target quick & you don't have to worry about getting your aim perfect. That dot does not move, no matter where you face & eyes are positioned. I'll be using it for night hunting predators also, so that is great for that in mind.

Be careful when you grip your gun, as the kick gave my thumb a cut 2 times. The Burris Fastfire is right next to my hand placement & the kick was enough to draw blood! I put on a shooting glove the last couple rounds, and no more problem.

I am going to bag my first Turkey this spring if it is the last thing I do!

I put a FFII with SpeedBead mount on my 870 SM a few years ago and I LOVE it! It wasn't the easiest thing in the world to install but wasn't rocket science either. Mine was easy to zero and has held it ever since I first sighted it in. I even still have the original battery in it but will probably swap it out this year just to be safe.
