I've had a nasty cough and lung pain for 2 weeks now. I finally gave in and went to the doctor today and was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. I have 10 days of antibiotics and 5 days of steroids.

For those who have had pneumonia how long did your recovery process take?

Ive had pneumonia 2 times, once in 7th grade and once in 9th grade and was in the hopital for two weeks both times. The second time i caught it the doctor said both my lungs almost collapsed.Just take it easy and listen to the doctor and take the medicine.

I feel good with the exception of my lungs hurting. They are feeling better than they did yesterday. Im hoping it keeps up so I can set traps and get back to duck hunting. Vacation from work starts Wednesday.

Ga Trapper,
My advice is not to push it. Your health is much more important than killing a few ducks. IMHO. You'll be back at it full speed when you are well. If you don't fully recover it's something that can linger on for a while and be tougher to get cleared up.

Every body I know has been sick with bronchitis. Had pneumonia before .Don't ever want that crap again. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Took my second dose of antibiotics and first round of steroids today. I feel a heck of a lot better today.

It can get bad, don't ever ignore it.  I am the worlds worst about saying "it will pass, I don't need a doctor".  About 20 years ago I developed pnumonia from a cold and bronchitus.  Didn't realize it till started coughing up blood streaked white foam.  When I got to the doctor my O2 saturation was 70 percent.  They immediately admited me to the hospital for 10 days of IV antibiotics, oxygen, and breathing treatments.  Even after discharge it was 6 weeks before I regained all my energy.

A relaps is much worse than the pneumonia, don't be in a hurry to do anything.

I just hope the next few days keep improving like today. I feel great and my lungs are feeling a heck of a lot better. Antibiotics, steroids and the breathing treatments seem to be kicking some butt. :z-guntootsmiley:
