Happy birthday from somewhere south of heaven

This is my weekend.  My birthday is Monday and this was my weekend to celebrate.  I hate my birth days.  Inevitably every year the occasion is a nightmare.  This year is same as usual.  I was excited to have a chance to be invited to my neighbor's property to hunt.  I will say the experience was great.  They are a 4 point on one side club.  I was lucky enough to see a buck this AM that was old enough and wide enough, but I could not count the points to ensure it was allowed.  I kick myself for not shooting it but I didn't want to break the rule.  The owner said I should have shot anyway.  Hind sight is 20/20.  The morning went great.  Then it went south.

I had to order a washing machine for my wife since the pump in our 2 yr old GE went out.  It was to be delivered today.  The guys show up on time.  They begin to unload.  We ordered a front loader with a pedestal.  Guess what no pedestal!  Only a washer.  They said the warehouse said the pedestal was not on the order.  The warehouse told them we already had it.  It sure as heck was not here and the packing slip clearly said 2 Items.  So we go back and forth with the store and the delivery company.  The delivery guys were getting antsy.  I was their first delivery of the day.  I finally got told that the pedestal would be here Monday and that they would hook it up.  Great, already a week without a washer.  I guess 4 day old dirty underwear is not that bad (just kidding).  The 3 day old pants are another story.  Also the manager was supposed to be making it right and I have not heard back from her.

ALSO, I had ordered an electric fire place for the den since the den has no air vent.  It was supposed to be delivered yesterday but the truck broke down.  It was delivered this morning to the store.  After the washer fiasco, we decided to head to town to pick it up.  We get there and it was waiting.  As I loaded it with the salesman, I was lamenting about the washer story.  He said let him know if the FP was damaged and he would replace it.  I get the sucker home and as I open it, I can see water damage on the bottom.  Also there is a nice coating of ...... you guessed it, BLACK MOLD!  I immediately call the store and the guy who I had been talking to answered.  I told him about the issue.  He immediately ordered a new FP.  I asked him to deliver it here and pick up the bad one.  The normal delivery charge would be $80.  He said it would be no charge.  I told him that since it was covered in mold I was not leaving it in the house, but I would not set it out in the rain.  I said the best I could do was to put it on the back porch out of the rain but not the humidity.  Not like he can resale it anyway.

So here I am about to be 35 and having one heck of a horrible weekend (whole day wasted).  Next year I want a big bottle of Wild Turkey 101 and a case of coke.  Then just leave me the heck to myself.

"Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?"..

Sorry to hear about all your problems. I thought that my luck only ran that way!!
I would like to wish you a happy birthday and hope that it is all downhill from here on in..
May you be blessed to have many more..

May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
If attacked by a mob of clowns, go for the juggler.
