There are a couple of great shows on now about Mr.Fred Bear. Great Stuff! The wife just happen to be watching with me. We talked about the archery catalog back in the day with my boy who is 15. The catalog was 10 pages at best. Now it's 210 pages. Then she says it (Wife). What the H@$^ you two need all that fancy gear for? That guy was gettin it done with a stick and string with hat and flannel on. I had a good giggle  :funnyturkey:

I think Fred did it for love of the sport. Everything today seems to be money from endorsement deals driven.I seldom watch celebrity hunters for that reason. They use whatever makes them the most money. He made a ton of money for sure but I don't think that was at the forefront of what he was doing. He was just an ordinary Joe strolling the streets of Grayling ,Michigan.

Agreed. Fred also allowed other companies to use his patented innovations to the archery industry. He loved the sport and wanted it to grow, so he put the sport ahead of him making money off of it. Great man!

I watched that as well, he is a legend in my eyes. Watching him shoot a traditional bow has me wanting to try it again myself.
