"The tombs were also opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised" (Matthew 27:52).
Jesus was dead. Bleeding and lifeless, His body hangs on the cross. At that point came events that shook any sane person -darkness in mid afternoon, splitting curtains, cracking rocks, opening tombs.
The natural world doesn't know what to do with the dead
Son of God.
All of these events, culminating in Jesus' words "It is finished" (John 19:30), foreshadowed Jesus' bodily resurrection and demonstrated what He had accomplished.
The once dead saints rose because Jesus would on the first Easter Sunday...and as all true believers will! We can take a cue from them. They know their God and Savior, and so do we. Their resurrection serves as an example that we will resurrect from our grave. Because Jesus lives, we will. In Him, and Him alone, do we possess the everlasting life God provides.
Jesus has reconciled you to the Father, forgiving you and granting you His righteous. You receive these divine gifts by faith. Amen!
