You can also use images of the Limbhanger vest..basically the same vest.

One improvement would be a larger pocket for the hydration pack...I had a hard time finding one that would fit.

The guys here were always a big help when it came to building gear, the whole 5 years we have been in business, so Im listeneing. Its going to be awhile, I want to get this right, when I figure out just what I need and make it the easist I can.
I had looked at a few vests in cabelas, like that Tater, it went for 120.00 I think and so on. I had a goal when i started to build this, I wanted to put together a vest, that covers all the basics, I dont want to build one of those new fangled things looks like they are going to the moon not hunting. So having said that, the bottom line is a kick butt vest, and my goal is to sell it for 70 dollars maximum, I think thats a steal when I look at some of these prices. Hows that sound?
I have everything written down that everyone has suggested to refer to. Bacl last year, we tried our hand if alot ofyou remember of the version of that Little Big Horn with the L shaped steel vest, we do not want to buil anything like that, it didnt work out with any frames. As a matter of fact, I had one frame laying around the house all year and someon asked me about it, so I put the last one together last week just to get rid of the frame.

My question of many is...since it is a runnin n gunnin, should it have a water bladder..the more that express their opinions, the better idea I will have.

I believe the dixon vest had three striker pockets in the front, a box call pocket, a slate pocket.  Had the claw slings on the shoulder straps. I read something about Kevlar maybe being used in stitching or it was double stitched. Been awhile since I read the topic.

Thank you!! We use something close to kevlar, we surge stuch everything together, then lay a straight top stich down on top of it, I guess thats why our gear doesnt come apart, that way, if one set of stitching finally wears out or whatever, its still help together by the other set.

Now does this vest have a water bladder or hydration unit of any kind?

If my Dixon vest has a spot for a hydration bladder I have not seen it (but I also have not looked for it).

Thats great, this will not have a hydration unit, there is not actually a place to put it anyway since Im making this vest lightweight, all Im concerned about is having the appropriate call pockets , cushion and keeping the price down. One other thing, our cushions now are 4 inches of high quality foam, no one makes a 4 inch cushion that I know of, that will handle the heaviest of guys.

Here is a quick video, thought it might be easier to give suggestions on the start of this vest.

I would go with quality over quantity in the seat cushion department a thick seat isn't much coin my of out just mashes down flat after an extended sit.ideally I would like to see multiple layers that increase in density, thebottom layer being relatively hard and thin to ward off tours and rocks.I love my Bob Dixon but the seat cushion isn't quite dense enough.
