Daughters first bird indiana
May 11, 2013, 09:29:24 PM
This is my 8 yr old daughters first year doing the turkey thing.
On her second out of the season she heard good gobbling and seen birds. Hen brought couple jakes near us just not in front of blind. Hour latter another hen came out along our side with three toms...close but not realistic for her to be able to turn and shoot off handed.
This past Thursday evening we were back at it with my youngest son tagging along.
Around 645 the three toms showed themselves and it was just time before they were in. The
One Tom jumped on and did a number to the decoy....great show. Lauren took her time and made a great shot. Never have I seen her so excited and happy. Was and still is a wonderful feeling being part of such an awesome thing. I have now seen all three of my kids kill long beards.
Thanks for reading.

You tell your daughter Lauren, ole Brad said she killed a gobbler that looks bigger than her. That's nice one for her first bird.
And congrats to you all.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
