im new to this forum but i was looking at getting my barrel polished and what ever i can do to help with accuracy. i found out i will have to have surgery on my left ring finger went to the doctor. i have a tumor under the joint and i have not been able to bend my finger out straight for months. i will be glad to get this removed. as im usaully in pain from this half the time. will have to rehab the finger as well. sounds like a small procedure but believe me it will be painful for a while. this may bring a end to my season as well. always have next year. will see how it goes. is there a gentlemen on her that goes by the name gundoc? if so please contact me. i know i could do it my self but it will be a while before i can use my left hand. thanks feel more comfortable with some one that knows what there doing.

Understand that this does not help in accuracy but rather it may improve pattern efficiency so that more shot can hit the central part of the target.

For most shots while turkey hunting having a polished barrel is not a major deal but I have personally put in some shine time on all of mine. If all that time was spent on shoes you could see your lips move.

Good luck with it.  You will be happy.

My supermag needs it done too.  Honestly the worse barrel I have from the factory.  Still shoots decent. Can't wait to see how it shoots after I polish it.

My super mag had an extremely rough barrel. My gunsmith polished it with a progression of sanding tools from fairly heavy grit down to a super fine polishing tool. Huge difference in the patterns. $30.00 for the job and I know it's done right. It would have cost me over $30 just to buy the materials to do a shade tree job. Well worth taking it to a Smith
