I have a question about my 935. When the gun is loaded and one in the chamber. I accidentally hit the bolt release button and it kicked a shell back under bolt between it and the flap on bottom. Is this normal or is it a problem?

Best I can tell you is to try and stay away from that button.  I hunted with a friend of mine this season and he hit his no less that 5 times on a single hunt.  He had to really pay attention to how he was handling it.  He mainly did it when he would switch the shoulder he was packing the gun on.

Is this normal for these guns? Or all autos in general.

I have a Franchi 912 and if you hit the side button (which i have) it will dump a shell.  If my memory serves me right, the only gun that I can think of right off the top of my head that does not have the button is the Remington line.  Not sure about the Versa Max but the 11-87 does not have the side button best I remember.

1187 has it on the bottom flap. But I believe when you push it the flap goes up.

It's normal. You're supposed to push the flap (shell elevator) up before you push the button. It's advertised as a feature to allow you to unload more easily. Often with guns that are not built that way, you can find a spot inside the gun to push to unload the same way.

True, but when the Flap goes up the shells do not come out though.  A remington has to be unloaded manually....

My 935 does that too, so I just make sure I don't hit that button. My buddies Versa Max is the same way.

I have a 935 that I've hunted with for 3 years and I have never hit that button my mistake. But I just try to keep hands off the receiver once loaded.  Handle by stock and forend only and it works for me.
