Have a 2011 Remington 870 Supermag with 25 inch barrel.  Anyone have this setup?  I heard the newer guns are more finicky than the older 870s.  Looking for a choke to maximize my pattern without buying a bunch of stuff and doing trial and error.  thx in advance :thanks:

There are a number of chokes that will serve you well but I'd recommend that you consider either the Wright's #3 or the Hevi-13 turkey choke.

Prior to patterning either, I'd recommend that you "deep clean" your bore. It will help regardless of the choke you choose.

Thanks,
Clark

thanks - either of these chokes better than the other?  3 1/2 or 3 in blends?

The Wright's is a very consistent performer in every Rem-Choke gun I've shot. It's non-ported, with a crowned muzzle, 1.3" of parallel section and rated for all types of lead and tungsten based shot.

Thanks,
Clark

The Hevi-Shot .662 choke was made specifically for those loads.   :OGturkeyhead:

I've never tried the hevi-shot choke tubes, but my indian creek loves the mag blends out of my 835.

I vote for the Hevi-shot choke. It with 3.5" magnum blends  out shot the .660 Jelly Head with 3.5" Hevi #6s in my 870sm
