Sling swivel studs for Synthetic stocks

Has anyone ever installed a sling swivel stud in a Remington Synthetic Stock? There is not much material down there due to the stock being hollow. I'm afraid to crack the stock...even if I pre-drill a hole???

Remove the recoil pad,and you will probably find an area just for that purpose.about 4-6 inches in.
