I've been a Magnum Blend or Hevishot #6 shooter for a couple of years now.  I'm getting tired of the $$ spent on those shells - especially after reading all the good things about the Turkey Thugs.   So today I stopped at Wally World, and they had 6 boxes of the 3" #5 Turkey Thugs left.  I grabbed a box and shot a few shots from 30, 40, and 50 yards to compare with my Magnum Blends.   Believe it or not - these things shoot quite a bit better out of my 870 Super Magnum with an Indian Creek choke tube than the super expensive Mag Blends.   I promptly returned to Walmart and bought the other 5 boxes.  I'm stocked up on turkey loads for a while now.

I wish I had tried some of the #5's.

The #6's sure shot well through my 870 and Indian Creek .665 choke.

They are pretty amazing for a $10 a box shell!I admit when i first tried them i was dissapointed with my results after seeing the numbers other members were getting.Tried a few chokes and the gun came to life.My favorite lead loads were always the ww 3-2-6s,and these shoot right with them using 1/8 less shot and cheaper to boot.Couldn't find any "grey box" winnies in the 6s,want to try them back to back with the thugs for comparison.I wish i could get some more thugs in 6s,around here they overstock the 4s in all brands,a few 5s and hardly any 6s.Going to stop by a few stores later today to see if i can grab some more 5s at least.I've got enough for now but if i can pick up another box or 2 i'll be ahead of the game for next year.If i could get a combo that shot 4s i would never have to worry about availability,Lol!Hopefully i can get to use one tomorrow morning on something a bit more tasty than paper!....ward
