This Spring vs. Last Spring - Midwest

For those of you who put a lot of time in the Midwest each year chasing longbeards, I'm interested in hearing opinions out there on what this year (late spring) is shaping up to be compared to last (early spring).  I'm heading to MO and KS the first week of May.  Thanks!
