Birds are gobbling good here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and activity levels are ramping up with the weather.
I was able to get out with my fiancé the other evening to do some scouting and ended up with a hoss of bird.
Unfortunately our season doesn't start for a few more weeks, and this bird met it's maker by way of our windshield on her Mercedes...
After a quick call to the local NRP officer, a salvage tag was issued, and it was on it's way to Mike Travis our taxidermist at Upper Bay Taxidermy.
I don't think I would typically get a bird mounted unless it broke some records, however we felt that this was one unique situation that warranted the cost.
Great bird coming in at just over 22 lbs with 11-3/4" beard, and 1-3/8" set of spurs.
Meanwhile we look to be right on track for a great season in the East!
