What is the best shot gun for a left handed turkey hunter? I have a hell of a time trying to get my saftey off with a bird staring at me.

I'm a lefty too but I've always shot a right handed gun and can get the safety off just as easy as a right handed shooter, (pistol grips are an exception here).. You can go the 835 or BPS route and have the ambidextrous top tang safety, or get a benelli. I'm pretty sure the benelli safetys can easily be reversed to accommodate lefties.

As a fellow lefty, I picked up a 26" LH SBE II in APG.  In addition to having the safety operate the correct way, it's also nice not having a shell eject in front of your face while you're keeping your head down on the stock after pulling the trigger.

If you desire bottom ejection of spent shells ...Ithaca 37 and it's modern adaptation by Browning the BPS as Gumby mentioned.

BPS has safety on upper tang like Mossberg pumps...Ithaca in the traditional location on triggergaurd.
Ithaca sells both left and right hand safety's...they are very inexpensive to switch...I think I paid about $ 15.00 for mine...had to switch it from left to a right.

I can't recommend Ithaca enough. Great guns!
The Browning BPS is a very nice gun, the top tang safety is ambidextrous, but it does feel like a lot longer reach to the forearm.
You can pick up a couple of left handed Benelli autos, the 870 is made in a left handed version as well. Remington used to make the 1100 in a left hand version, and I believe Charles Daly made their semi auto in a left hand version as well.

Really? The shell ejection has never bothered me, shooting is the only thing I do left handed and all i shoot is RH guns.

The shell ejecting always bothered me, as well as the little bits of burnt powder that blows into your face with a strong wind.
Being left handed I refuse to shoot a right handed gun, my wife tells me its just because I'm too stubborn.

I grew up shooting RH shotguns, and it never bothered me either. 

Then I shot a LH shotgun and I realized how it is supposed to work!

I know what you mean my Marlin 22 is the worst about burnt powder in my face. I have to wear glasses when i shot a semi auto
