I have ordered all of my components for 12 ga, 3" TSS loads.  I have 8's and 9's.  How do you all stack or mix the 8's and 9's?  Should I mix them or load some 8 shells and 9 shells? What sort of numbers could be expected from an 870 26" barrel and extra full choke?  Thanks!

9s are all you need. If duplexing put the 8s on top

I duplex hevi 6 and 7 and the smaller pellet in first bigger pellet on top.   I have shot them mixed together and it opened my patterns up, so that might be an option if your patterns are too tight.   Where are you getting TSS and if you dont mind how much is it going for now?

I bought the TSS last spring from , and I'm just now getting to loading it.  Sounds like I might need to look into getting more since it's so tough to find these days.

I load 1 oz of 8s over 1 oz of 9s in a 3" shell. My 1187/ Rem HS SF (.675) averages 306/10 and 554/20. If your XF choke is a Rem, it is .687. Your numbers may or may not be as high as mine. TSS is usually not too fussy about chokes.

Ditto.  I started with 7's, then I went to 8's.  Then I went to duplex of 9's by Hevi-shot.  Next I went to straight 9's in the 12ga.  Then I went to the 20ga with 9's.  Now I'm on 9.5's (425/oz) in the 20ga.  It's never ending!!!!!   :TooFunny:

I've got some 9X8's but after seeing what the straight 9's can do, that's all you'd ever need. I'll be going straight 9's here on out.
