New to the forum, but not to chasing birds. I live in northeast Florida and hunt both easterns and osceolas. I spent the past weekend on a WMA permit youth hunt with my 10 year old son battling wits with a very educated 3 or 4 year old longbeard. We got very close on Sunday and he strutted past at 60 yards. I gave it everything that I had, but I just couldn't pull him away from his harem. A good friend drew a permit for the same WMA this weekend. He now has 3 weeks worth of scouting and hunting reports and a weekend to get it done. In 2 weeks, my son will be back after a private land osceola for his first gobbler. I look forward to sharing pics and the story of his bird with all of you when his little 20 gauge finally gets the chance to bark.
