I about busted my budget this year getting into and set up for Spring turkey. One last thing to buy was some type of sighting system as my Rem 11-87 shoots high and left with tighter constriction tube I'm using. Not being able to afford much, I was pleased to see the TriViz sights on sale at Cabelas yesterday when I was there looking around for $24. I went ahead and picked them up even though I haven't found much information on them...kind of taking a gamble, I guess.
The install today took me 5 minutes. The front sight mount is the weak point of this sight system as it only has the front screw in place of my screw out front bead. The rest of the sight mounts to the rib via a double sided sticky tape. I made sure to wire wheel brush that area of the rib clean, scuffed it up a little with some 80 grit, and wiped it down with alcohol before peeling the tape and mounting it. Seems pretty damned solid so far. If it fails I will drill and tap a rear hole for the front sight and that will be the end of it.
The visibility is amazing and the sight picture is nice. Feels really natural and easy to line up. Haven't taken it out to sight in yet but I will post back after doing so on Tuesday.
Anyone else use these sights? Kind of interested to see what others think who have used them.
