These pictures aren't real clear but this is the inside of my IC tube.  It looks to me like the wad catchers are dinged and when I feel them with my fingers they are pretty rough. Is this normal? I'm shooting Hevi-13 #7's and I have cleaned the tube so I know it's not plastic from the wads. I am getting decent patterns but I would think this would affect my patterns. Let me know what y'all think.

Nope.  That was more than likely caused by a bad insert that had a chip in it that needed to be changed out.  I'm saying that in all liklihood if you in fact bought the choke new and have only shot the right loads in it.  I would call Stuart and Mike at Indian Creek. 

Did you buy the choke brand new?  That may be a question they may have.  If you did, they should take care of you.  If you didn't then it becomes a matter of was the choke like that from the factory or was it caused by another factor from loads that were shot from it like Federal Heavyweight ammo with the flite-control wad which is a no-no in these chokes.

Yep, bought it brand new 2 years ago and have only ran HS through it. I'll give them a call and see what they say.

Now here's the kicker.  You said you bought it brand new.  Now technically that choke shouldn't look like that even after you shot several rounds through it with Hevi-13 loads.  But my question to you now is was it that way when you bought it and why are you now 2yrs later just now posting this?  Now don't take that the wrong way, but I'm just stating that if you in fact had that choke as new and seen it then earlier after you bought it that you should of spoke up then.  That's all.  But I know I have seen some chokes posted before over this same exact issue and I think it was in fact decided that it was caused by shooting Hevi-13 loads through it and it won't hurt a thing for patterns.  Now I don't know for sure what caused that, but  I can tell you that none of my Indian Creek chokes I have owned or shot Hevi-13 through looked like that.

I just now noticed it.  I went to polish my barrel this year and took the choke out and inspected it and that's when I noticed it.  I've always just ran a brass brush through it to clean out the plastic that can build up.  After polishing my barrel and screwing the IC back in, I checked the barrel again noticed the marks.

I'm still averaging about 250-270 at 40 yards so it may not have any affect as you stated, but I will call and see what they say.

Sounds like it still is shooting very well. 

That's what I would do.

Looks like scoring to me. I have two Indian Creek chokes and both look like that. The only thing that has been shot thru my choke has been Hevi, Mostly NITRO's and Hev 13. It ain't hurt my patterns one iota.

I had been told by Indian Creek that it was normal when shooting Hevi when I noticed it in my choke.  Mine looks just like that.

I was told by stuart from IC that it is normal when shooting hevi-shot. Although i did find out the hard way with the federal hw. When i first got my indian creek 5 years ago the i found a good deal on fed heavyweight 3.5 #5s. all it took was a few shots to ruin that choke. sent IC my damaged choke and received a replacement within a week.good customer service.Back then the IC chokes said they would handle ANY turkey load. soon after i sent my choke back i saw the federal heavyweight disclaimer/warning on IC's website.dont know if they did it because of my damaged choke but it sure seemed that way.And i can say stay away from the # 5 HW turkey loads. Not enough pellets in the shell to make a good pattern.And the new IC chokes are made of stainless steel not sure if the new ones would have wad catchers dinged when using hevi shot or not.BradC is your IC the stainless steel one?

I have currently the Mad Super Max .675 made by Indian Creek for my 870.  But it don't have the wad stripper feature.  And it is the old moly steel.  But it out shot all the other 4 Indian Creek chokes I tried for my 870.  I tried the .665 and it wasn't very good in my 28" barrel with Hevi-13 3" 2oz #7 loads.  I then tried a .655. and it was a lot better buy still trying to improve I went with a .668.  It shot real well.  I then went and tried a .675 but ended up keeping the .668.  I sold it later on since I had the better patterns out of the Super Max.  But none of these chokes I tried were stainless steel.  Now the one I had for my Moss 835 was stainless steel.  It was a .675.  I sold it since it wouldn't beat my Star Dot.  But it did shoot very close to 300 in the 10" which is still dang good. 

I didn't have my chokes that long that I shot a lot of shots out of them to notice the scoring that some have called it.  But that may be the case on chokes that have had several shots through them.

Mine has only had hevi 7s through it. It looks the exact same way yours does, and it still shoots in the 290-300 range. I'm not worried

One of the wad catching rings inside of my RemChoke Chrome-Moly BDS has a ding in it like that.

Makes me wonder if it's caused by a stray HTL pellet getting between the wad petals and the interior wall of the choke tube?

Anyway, my choke like that still shoots well.

And the more I think about it I think my .668 Indian Creek BDS may have some slight scoring but none like the op posted.  But then again like I said it wasn't shot probably as many times either.  But you would think with the wad between the shot and the choke that this wouldn't take place.  But then again most chokes don't have those grooves running through them either.  So I guess the pressure is being forced outward and when the shot goes over the groove that may explain what is taking place here.

Mine has only had lead and Winchester XR shot thru it and it does not have the nicks in the wad catchers like that.  I suspect it has to do with the wads in the shells.  Hevi uses thin wads and the Winchester XR are thick pastic petals.  Winchester uses thick wads and a 1/4 oz less shot to protect the barrel better.  Seems to protect the choke better too.

Thanks guys, it doesn't seem to be effecting my patterns either, so I'll probably just live with it since others are experiencing the same thing.
