Cabelas boots

I gotta get some new boots. I'd have to say the best boots I ever had was the old Danner pronghorns. Since then I've had a lot of different boots. A couple years ago I tried some Cabelas pinnacle zip up boots, and I will have to say they were extremely comfortable, and fairly lightweight for a boot that tall. They only complaint I had was that they were about as waterproof as a pair of tennis shoes. The past couple years ice just been buying Bogs and I go through about 2 pair a year. I seen Cabelas has a new pinnacle snake boot. The only thing holding me back from buying a pair is that they've got the Boa lacing system. I just ain't too sure about that. Anybody have any experience with this lace system? They claim it's the latest and greatest thing but I think it's just a sales gimmick. If it does work and they fit anything like the old pinnacles I wouldn't hesitate to get a pair.

BOA is a client of mine - great company that stands behind their stuff. They sell a little over $20 mil. Year - not a fad. Most popular lacing system in the snowboarding world and boarders are tough on their gear.
I've got golf shoes, mt bike shoes and 2 pair of hiking boots with BOA - love em.

I have the boa system on my LL Bean upland boot and that system is the bomb! I did order the Cabelas snake Boot with the boa system and I have decided to send them back. After wearing Danners nothing seems to be quite as comfortable. I found the cabelas to be very stiff, they prolly would be fine after break in but with the Danners they were broke in right out of the box.
Good Luck!

I had the Pinnacle snake boots too a couple of years ago. Leaked awful but they were comfortable. Let me know how these work out.

I changed my mind on sending these boots back to Cabelas. I loved the design and look (Mossy Oak Obsession) and the boa sysem is awesome!!! But they were stiff....... so when I decided I was going to keep these boots I filled them up with water to see if they were indeed water proof and they were... (I was hoping it would also help with the stiffness.) So I started the process of breaking them in by taking short hikes and wearing them around the house...... I'm glad I decided to put in the extra time to break these in as they are becoming more comfortable each time I put them on. I have found while breaking them in , by just using the buckles at the top of the boots and not tighten the boa system and its almost like wearing rubber boots..... When totally broken in I will use the boa system to tighten as needed. I'm glad I changed my mind.

I have them and love them. I've owned 10 pairs of snake boots over the years and they are the most comfortable I have ever worn.
