anybody make willow strikers? If so whats the cost?

I've never tried it. Willow is a real soft and light weight wood. I'm sure it would turn and finish well but not sure how it would sound on friction calls. I'll spin one up after I get back from Nashville to see.

Yea I know Whitt and a few others make box calls with willow. I've started one myself but have yet to finish it. It's still a real soft wood and very light. That being said I lied and thought I would try to turn a few today. I left these a little heavy to give them some weight. I've only tried them on one slate and an aluminum call as the Mrs. is sleeping so I didn't crank it up. They sounded nice on a slate and aluminum call that I made. Maybe I was wrong about this wood for strikers. Bill This is what they call swamp willow or black willow.
