Maybe a dumb question to some out there but I just want to be sure... Is it safe to shoot Hevi-13 3" and 3.5" turkey loads through the following factory remington chokes:

Improved Cylinder
Modified
Full
Turkey Extra Full
Turkey Super Full

None of them are stamped 'lead only' like the Turkey Super Full is.

Thank you!!

The first 3 are probably going to be okay to shoot with ,but to be honest don't waist your expensive$$$ ammo on the first 3 , they will prove to be less than satisfactory with most turkey loads ,

The turkey super Full is stamped "lead only" that means lead only -not saying its safe or not

Here is what I would do , there is a turkey pattern picture section just below this area , I am guessing you are shooting a 1187 or 870 - the shells you have H13's, have been tested countless times by the members and they posted the results along with the chokes they used , take a browse  at some of the pictures and you will be able to round it down to what choke you should get , or if your lucky they tested some of the factory chokes

Thanks Old Gobbler.  I was actually just making sure.  As weird as it sounds I'm considering taking a mod or full choke on a hunt in KS this year.  I have never shot one over 20 yards on the ranch I hunt on.  It's all very close hunting, usually 15 yards or less.  I'll probably just use lead but was just wondering on the Hevi 13 since that's my typical load with my dedicated Jellyhead or Kicks turkey choke.

As far as shooting Hevi 13 through the factory Rem Extra Full and Super Full, I have read that plently of folks do it, but I just wanted to be sure.  Like you said, "Lead Only" would mean lead only to me.  Maybe I can call Remington.  Thanks again!!

I have shot H-13 #6's and#7's threw the turkey super full and It would definitely be a tight pattern at those close ranges. Personally at those range's Id go with lead and a the full or extra full.

I have a bunch of remington chokes. Your ok to shoot hevi through them unless it says lead only. I know a lot of guys still shoot hevi through lead only chokes, but I just don't see any point in it. I use the factory .660 REM HD turkey/ predator choke that came with my supermag. It  performs great with hevi-13.

Thanks Captain Hook.  I didn't even know Remmington made a factory 0.660 choke.  I have the factory turkey super full that's stamped lead only that's 0.665.

I shoot Hevi 7s through a factory full choke (marked for steel or lead) out of my 870.
My 870 is odd...I've purchased aftermarket chokes from Pure Gold, Briley, Primos, and Carlson, and the factory full choke gives the best patterns.
The turkeys don't seem to care.
