Just had a friend call me & ask me if I would be interested in buying a Stoeger M3500 (realtree max-4) shotgun. He knows someone who is selling some guns and wants $400 for it. Does anyone here use this shotgun and have some advice. It appears to be primarily a duck gun so I was just wondering how it might perform for turkey hunting (a backup to my 1187). I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I had the stoeger 2000 with a 28" barrel and I loved it. Sometimes it would jam, after the shot it would eject the shell but it would only cycle the next round a little over half way and the bolt would get stuck. Had it not been for that i would still have the gun.

I've got the stoeger 3500 and I love it! Just put 100 rounds through it Saturday at the skeet range. And it didnt miss a beat. Some of the real cheep low recoil rounds don't cycle as good but, I absolutely love mine. It tends to be a little on the heavy side, but to me it helps with recoil. I'd say I've got close to 600 rounds through it and I've yet to have a major problem. The only slight problem I've had is the action handle has come out maybe 2 times when shooting 3-1/2" shells. But those times the handle had excess oil on it from where I had cleaned it. I use it for both duck and turkey hunting.

This is my primary turkey gun this was the second bird I shot with it. Shot it at 35 yards with the factory turkey choke and winchester supreme #6 3-1/2" and I feel it did pretty well.

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands, love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper; his hands remember the rifle.
