No Kill... No Problem

I was wading in some flooded timber duck hunting on Friday evening. About 75 yards away with the setting sun as the background I had 15-20 birds fly up to roost over a 20 minute period. I watched them sort out who got which branch as the orange sky turned dark.
I didn't see a single duck that evening but that was still a great hunt! I wish I would have had a camera or video recorder. The pics didn't show up well on the iPhone.

I call those my spiritual moments. That one will be in your memory a long time. Sounds cool.

Those moments make it worth going don't they?
I had a similar moment of spectacle watching a bunch of Merriams fly up at sundown on the final day of the hunt.
They flew up to a tree right in front of me.
It was almost magical to see. What a way to end a hunting trip.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!
