I discovered this buck while making my rounds during a quick scouting mission prior to the evening hunt back on 10/8.  The carcass was super fresh and hadn't been there the previous day.  At the time we couldn't find any obvious cause of death and we figured he must have been hit by a car since he was laying 60 yds from a road. Since then, two more bucks have been found on this farm with small caliber bullet holes in them...>:( >:( >:( !!! Hopefully, the scumbags that are doing it will be brought to justice soon.  Anyways, he's a pretty nice deer.  There are several larger racks bucks in the area but this guy had one of the largest bodies of any deer I've ever seen...he was built like a small steer!!!

The deer hunting has been pretty slow to this point, but I have managed to put some fresh venison in the freezer.

Broke in the new TC Icon .308 with a couple of crop damage permit does, including this big old horse...



The new bow has gotten a little action too...



The fall turkey season opens tomorrow!!!  :happy0064:

WOW!! That buck is a TANK!!! Sucks that he had to go out that way because hes a stud for sure, body of a cow. What state are you in?

Holy cow dude, thats a stud for NY. I cant get over the size of the body on that thing, hes been eating good for sure

From other pictures WNY Bowhunter has posted, deer like that are not rare.  I would not say average but not rare.

Road hunters are the scum of all poachers. Hope they lose there truck when they get caught. I'd be livid if I found that on my place. They knew they hit the deer, if your going to do that grow some balls and go get the animal. Sorry to see that on your place. Your deer pics still amaze me, I really think your in Iowa.

It's even worse than road hunting because our gun season doesn't open until 11/17.  These deer are getting poached at night with a spotlight...
