Jacobs first hunt

After a very cold and unproductive morning...ok not that it was unproductive...just I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn from ten feet away....I decided ti head out for the afternoon. Jacob my five year old wanted to go with me. I got him outfitted and we headed out. Jacob tends to be a little ADD times. We walk down to the swamp and much like Luke Skywalker carrying Yoda through the swamp I had to do the same. I got Jacob out to the stonewall and we settled in. it took Jake 20 minutes to decide he wanted to go. I was not having it. Trying to keep Jacob under control....I missed an opportunity on a Woodie. Needless to say it was the only opportunity. We left with no shots fired. Jake was upset, when I asked why he said...I just wanted you to shoot a wood duck. It was great to brung him out but yet a bit frustrating.

Cant wait to take my daughters out but I have taken my nephews out before and it was a great time. Good luck next time..
