Anybody know about the CZ 12ga. auto? I won one at a dove shoot. Is it the same as a weatherby sa08, tri star, etc.

First of all, congratulations on winning that gun. That's always a good thing.

I have looked at the 712 and handled it at the NRA National Conventions in both Pittsburgh and St. Louis. They appear to be very well made guns as are all guns made in Turkey that I've seen. They are somewhat unique in that they do not have a spring (consequently no spring tube) in the stock and thus can have adjustable stocks. Unique for self-loaders.

Tom Knapp, the exhibition shooter, is shooting the 712 currently and I've heard nothing but positive things about it.

I've found Turkish guns to be very well built, overbuilt normally and a good value for the money. In your case, a great value for the money.

Thanks,
Clark

You're welcome. Yes, the Beretta/Benelli Mobil chokes fit these guns so you have a wide selection of choices of choke tubes. While I have spent a good bit of time with these guns at the NRA Conventions, looking at them and examining them inside and out, I have not taken one to the range. I have spoken with others who have shot them and all report that they function very well.

Thanks,
Clark
