Montana photos

I've been out scouting for elk now a couple times and really haven't had a lot of luck locating any herd sign, but I'm sure I'll eventually find them..........I hope.  I've also spent quite a bit of time driving back and forth across the state for my job.  Here are some photos that I thought some of you may enjoy.

Elk scouting:









Isaac is growing up and will be packing a bow around this year during the elk and deer season:



There were almost 20 chicks (Huns) that crossed the road in front of me here

My wife and kids convinced me that they needed chickens.  We have eight total.  One of them ended up being a rooster.

There were three hen turkeys here and poults everywhere in the weeds.  There are a dozen poults in the second photo that all appeared to be following the hen to the far right.






Here are a couple short videos of a lonely tom I ran across in the mountains the first week of June.   I was looking for elk when I surprisingly ran into this guy.  It didnt' take much to make him gobble as you'll tell by me weak owl hooting.

Thanks for posting the pics.  Absolutely beautiful country.  A western elk hunt is number one on my bucket list now since I have been fortunate to remove Merriams turkey off that list.

 ME Jealous,  Man that country is so beautiful . Awesome pic's and videos  . I did a bear hunt in Montana in 2000 and fell in love with Montana. Missoula
