A little summer time thinking and shooting.

What do you think?

Through a MB 835, 20" barrel.

I shot one through a PG .670 and got 147ish at 40 yds.  Just wonder if opening up a little would improve the 10" numbers.  A lot of time has been spent with Hevi and I think we need to spend more time getting info with the 3.5" 2 oz #6 load.

PG is going to make me one, so I hope to shoot some in August.

Interesting. That could be wicked. Actually, 147 is good. You may find great. Those XRHD 6's smash birds!

All I can tell you is that I tested a Kicks .670 and .680 and .690 in a 24" barrel 835 with that shell and the .670 count was higher than the other two.  It is a different choke so it may not reflect what the PG will do.

The XR's like to be choked tighter than the hevi does, The numbers your getting for a 20" bbl. are pretty good.

I got good numbers from the same load with an 835 24" using an IC .675. I can't recall the exact count, but the Hevi 13 6's in the 2.25 load beat them soundly. So far, the IC has beaten my Stardot with every load, but the Hevi 7's.

Would love to try some of the Win XRHD in my Mossy 835 with a 24" barrel and Star Dot .676 choke.  Shot the Hevi 2.25 oz 3.5" 6s this past year and cannot say a bad thing about them, but am interested in what the Winchesters will do.

Getting ready to try some through a SN 26" with a .660 Trulock & .655 JH. Will post results.
The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.

in my old school 24" 835, I tried only 2 chokes with the XRHD #6's. with a ssx .675, I got 200 +/- at 40yd and with a tightwad .690 I got 150 +/-. I chose to hunt with the tight wad and i believe this is the best combo I have ever used.

Here is the pattern:

I know it is only one shot, but I'll shot 2 more through this and then 3 through whatever choke I decide on and then make a choice for a back up.
