There have been good arguments mentioned above. Working in the natural gas industry in the northern tier of PA I will be the first to say that there have been and will continue to be incidents that affect the environment as there are in any major industry. If everyone does their job and follows the rules and regulations these impacts are minimal. NIMBY is a very common disorder, out of sight out of mind. Sure it is easy to turn on a light switch or turn up the thermostat and not think about where that fuel is coming from but we all need to think of where our money is going. American natural gas is the key to our country's energy independence. Something is wrong if Americans would rather import energy from foreign countries that hate us than develop our own resources and put Americans to work. Yes it may temporarily inconvenience us but if you ask me it is worth it
