Some dead turkeys over the weekend. I wish I was still hunting.

I'm trying!!!  Had two longbeards roosted last night...got in super early this AM and set a ground blind up where they've been coming out into the plowed field.  The first one came out @ 60-65 yds. following a hen.  I gave him a few soft calls...he gobbled and strutted but just wouldn't come 20-30 yds closer to check my dekes out.  His buddy came out about an hour later in the same spot following twohens.  The hens eventually circled around and came to investigate my Zink LCD hen but the gobbler kept on strutting up the field.  The kicker is, both walked up the logging road where I was set-up yesterday!!! I'm really, really, really starting to hate those stupid birds... !!!

Here's a little taste of how many season has gone to this point.  There was a big ole strutter that had followed these hens out into the field.  He broke off and kept going away from my set-up and they ended up within 10 yds of the blind...

That's about as pretty as a hen can be. You must be hunting the dreaded gay turkeys or did something wrong in a past life. That tom should have walked right in to your barrel. I blame gay turkeys ALOT, seems there are fewer straight ones every year. Good luck this weekend.

  I too have encountered gay turkeys!  I always say that the ones that won't come into a call must be playing for the other team now.
