I got 2 German Shorthaired Pointers and I'm having a horrible time keeping them in the yard. Neighbors are starting to complain and I can't blame them. Got two long runs for them but with a 6 and 8 year old constantly letting them out that solution isn't working. I'm looking into an underground fence since my 3 acres are irregularly shaped. Wanted to see what the OG. Community recommended and what brand to stay away from and cost.

Thanks for the replies ahead of time.

I have the petsafe brand and it works really good. You really have to take time to train your dog per the instructions.

I'm having Pet Stop install one next month at my new house, my dealing and price quote so far has been excellent

With the Pet Safe underground wiring I kept having it break, even when I went and rented a trencher and laid it like that. I went to their wireless boundary system and had NO problems.  I'd highly recommend it.  Of course, I had a beagle and not a German shorthaired...

A trencher would be the way to go. I used a shovel. Have never had a problem with it breaking.

Try to keep it on flat ground. A buddy of mine got one for his labs and they figured out if they ran real fast and dove down the hill they could dive through it and get away. When they decided to come home they would stop short of the fence and bark until they woke someone up.

I have the wired Petsafe brand.  It does work well.  Would have liked the wireless one but my yard is too small and on 2 different grades.
