Despite being a hunter for 23+ years, this is my first year ever spring hunting turkey.  With that, I am looking to start a good collection of books/videos on this subject.  I want  to find what the members here think are worthy purchases in this area.  I am not looking for hunting kill videos, I am looking for videos (and books) which take you from beginning to end on how to become a more successful hunter.

So, please let me know what you have found to be good.

Thanks

I'd love to hear some of the members' input on this as well. Who couldn't use some tips and pointers to step up a level or two?

Spring gobbler fever by Michael Hanback

It's very informative and entertaining at the same time, Ive read it more than once.

Back in the day, we referred to it as the turkey hunting bible.

Most of turkey hunting is woodsmanship and understanding habits of the turkey.  I recommend learning about turkeys first.  Start by reading Illumination in the Flatwoods by Joe Hutto.

Look for some Tom Kelly books, the mentioned Mike Hanaback book is good.  Check out the books available through midwest Turkey Call supply.  As far as videos look for some Denny Gulvas, old Preston Pittman, and the first few Primos Truth videos.  These were made with more of a informative theme than for just entertainment.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
