Here is one of my Hunter Series and built from some very old wood.  Figured Walnut lid with double sugar maple and Chestnut inlays over 330 yr old American Chestnut in a Walnut base.  The Chestnut, and wormy it is, came from an old barn, in Erie Co, NY and actually from the old threshing floor.  Fittingly I decided to burning a couple old barns from an old farmstead near home.  This is for a hunter here in NY who has patiently waited and is definitely excited for our season to begin next Tursday.  Since I must also continue to wait for the season to begin as well, I'll just keep cranking on these calls!  Thanks fer looking guys.

Very nice.

I'd like to hear some soundfiles on some of the beauties you post.  We see how they look, we'd love to hear how they sound. (I know it's work, but if you can make the time.)

I would be happy to post some sound files if I knew how?  Can anyone give me some guidance/directions?  Is youtube the way to go, or is there a simpler method?
send me a PM, or call me may be better, 716-435-1065.

Thanks in advance, Scott

I responded by PM.

This video might help you with Windows tools to record audio files, and then you need to upload the files to a host site on the internet.  Then people can click on it an listen.

You might get more doing a google search of how to record to a  computer with "X" based on what operating system and entertainment software you have on you specific computer.

How difficult is that old chestnut to work?

I didn't think it was any more difficult than most woods I work with.  Maybe I just got lucky.  A great deal depends on the lid and how well it matches up with the box wood.  On this particular call I tried 6 lids before the one that is on there worked.
