I have been wanting to buy a strutting decoy. I have herd good and bad about them. I only bow hunt turkeys and wondering if more birds will come into the 10 to 15 yard range or stay in the out of bow range zone like i have been hearing.

Thanks

Mark

You are kind of throwing the dice each time you put out a strutting decoy. Sometimes they come running in, sometimes the go running off and sometimes they come in but keep their distance. They generally work better earlier in the season when gobblers are still establishing dominance. Later in the season they will scare off the gobblers that got whooped in a fight, but will still work on the dominant bird.

They are really just another tool, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. The skill lies in knowing when to use them.

If I were strictly a bow hunter, I would definitely get one.

Thank you, I have also been thinking about the dsd breeding pair

DSD breeding pair is probably the best set up you can run for archery hunting birds.. if you can part with the cash I dont think anyone who has bought them has been disappointed with the results
