Yeah i know it could be worse it just ticked me off that i did all that work stalking them and turn up they were jakes but at least i know i can stalk a turkey
I dont shoot jakes havent shot one since i was a kid but i dont look down on people that do just not my choice they will be long beards next year.

I feel your pain!  I was hunting in Idaho two weekends ago and my buddy and I were on two birds.  They were gobbling like crazy but weren't getting any closer.  All of the sudden and out of nowhere, a bird gobbles to our left and it had a DEEP gobble.  I'm thinking this has to be a mature bird.  Wrong!  It ended up being 4 jakes and I watched that bird gobbled a few times before he disappeared in the timber out in front of us.
