should i hunt where  i seen turkeys roosted at deer season  in the woods they are always there all the time in the same area or should i stay with the fields that they walk up a path and they come in the field  both are good places youth hunt you can hunt all day and i put a blind up by the field i was thinking about going to the woods in the early morning for a few hrs. if no luck then go right to the blind and stay till dark or what do you think

thanks otis

You should pre season scout turkeys if you can. They will not always be the same places in the spring that they were in the fall.

otis

i did pre scouting im just asking would you hunt the fields or the woods

Lost my post????
I like to get as close to them on the roost as I can without flushing them. When the time is right I will call and try to call one in for a kill shot. If this does not work I will try to get in front of there line of travel. I will call and try to keep tabs on were they are at. If this does not work I will go to the field were I have seen them and try and wait them out. I like to move on trukeys and do not like to sit and wait to were I think they are going but I will. As long as your way of hunting them is within the law there is no wrong way to hunt them as long as you are killing them. Do not be afraid to take a chance on them. But remember NONETHING works everytime on a gobbler.
