Ok, so opening morning started off beautifully. 10 minutes to 6 the first bird sounded off and started a chain reaction. I must have heard 10 different birds those suckers sounded like they were gobbling every breath,at everything... Well every thing except me. About 830 I was working one out towards a field trying to pull him down the road. I set the decoys at a y in the road and put myself between them and the bird. Well another bird slipped in from the other direction and just sort of appeared at the set up at 15 yds. Gun facing wrong way, hunter facing wrong way bird staring me down. Finally get gun turned the right way and shouldered but he sees me and starts the other way down the road, I pick a small window in the brush and BOOM!!! Birds starts flopping and flying. Turns out there were 3 birds and somehow I wound up with the jake. Wasn't the one I was after but it was a cool hunt, and a bird on opening day is always a good ice breaker. Sorry no pic not that gifted with the computer.
