I need a box call for my dad....

today i went for a spin on my bike to cover some new spots fast (season isnt open here in PA yet so im still scouting)....i took my dads old Penns Woods Roger Latham True Tone box call....of course i hit a bump, it falls from my hand and lands right between the spokes and the front fork and sheers the call sides right off -__-

I feel like sh!t, he has had that call since the 80s....and its the only call he ever carried. He isnt the kind of guy to get mad about it, but it sucks


His birthday is coming up in May and it looks like he is getting a call from me now....do any of you guys have some calls that you never used and would sell? Some hardly used ones? Or some suggestions on a good one to get? please PM me


Id be intereted in the production calls....or a custom call, but nothing too expensive because he doesnt baby his stuff

I would call the Shoemakers at SS Custom Calls.........they are very knowledgeable and build a great call! They will take time to talk with you and run run calls so you can kinda get a idea of what you are lookin for.

Another option is to go to Brookside Game Calls and buy one of the pre-cut short, long, or half moon box calls that they sell in kits. No point in paying someone else to order one, finish sand it, spray lacquer on it, and screw it together when you can just do it yourself for less money.

First off, Welcome to Old Gobbler.  Since you are new to OG and only have a few posts (it takes 50 posts), you can't see the Turkey Call Classifieds to view the quality of calls that the members on here have to offer.  My suggestion to you is visit the Links section and there are several members that advertise there.  Also as stated, Gobblez from Spring Creek has several short and longboxes available in the classifieds.  Do a search for Gobblez and PM him.  Get some phone numbers for the rest of the ones you are interested in and call them.  Tell them what you are looking for and get them to play some of their calls over the phone for you.  You may find exactly what your looking for, for your Dad.   Again Welcome.

 Spring Creek Custom Calls, Mike is a Great Guy and will work with ya, as he did for me. Iam waiting on my new Box call, but from what i hear about his calls, Iam pumped and ready to give it a Go. I brought a Cherry/Butternut Box call, and it just sounds sweet.... Iam putting it to  the test on opening day, picture to follow.
