Has anyone tried the super fast 1 1/4 oz #2 hevi shot and got it to pattern?

Has anyone tried the super fast 3" - 1 1/4 oz #2 hevi shot and got it to pattern?  Got a buddy that duck/goose hunts with it and has alot of shells in his hunting cave.  Said he's like to get them to pattern tight for turkey hunting and only have to have one shell for all his bird hunting.

He shoots a Remington 870, 28" barrel...

Any suggestions on chokes to have him possibly try?

You ain't gonna find to many folks on here that shoot 2s at turkeys. That would be like shooting buckshot at them, save'em for the geese.

Bad idea! It isnt that expensive to buy seperate shells for waterfowl and a different type for turkey.  Most  2'a weather they be steel or hevi disnt pattern worth a damn for me past 25 yards.

While it doesn't take a lot of pellets to the head to kill a bird, #2's are pretty risky for turkeys.  You probably won't want to shoot more than a full choke either.  Also, a lot of time, when you pull up to shoot a goose it is closer than when most hunters shoot their turkeys.  Its kind of the ego's between the two sports.  Goose hunters want the black feet down, in the spread, and on top of them, while a lot of turkey hunters only care to get the bird within 45 yards and the gun goes off.  Spend the 25 bucks a year and stay with the tukrey loads.

why would you want to use #2's for turkeys
they will never pattern worth a crap

I don't think its ethical and besides most states its illegal for a reason. Like many have said above spend the money and use the turkey loads.

 #4 is the largest shot size you can use in Pa.

id agree that most state wouldnt allow #2 shot. and even if they did why would you risk a low pellet count for a slim chance of one of those bigger shots to hit a turkey...sounds like a miss or a wounded bird to me

In Virginia it is legal to use #2 shot on turkeys, I wouldn't use it but it's the largest shot size we are allowed.  Old regulation from long, long ago.  Like many other things we need to update in our state.
