First off I'm fairly new to the site and love it. Yesterday I was able to be in the woods of eastern NC with my 11 yr old son for his second youth day hunt and I am proud to report that after a very long day that he was able to close the deal on a nice tom. The bird he killed was one the I have had my eye on for a couple of weeks now and I thought that I had his pattern figured out. LOL. At day light I realized that i was not as smart as I thought I was and it took most of the day to over come my mistake but we did and my son went home with his second youth day bird in as many years.
As for the turkey he had a 10.5 inch beard with 1 inch spurs.
I love turkey hunting but nothing better than to share it with someone that is new to the sport and learning to love it as much as I do!!!
