Sorry for the picture guys my bird got wet on my 45 minute drive back from camp I didnt have anyone at camp to take field pics for me.
Well this hunt started with two different birds gobblin that morning on the roost. Once they hit the ground they pretty much answered everything I through at them. Both birds were gobblin one to my left and the other back behind me I was thinkin it would be a race to see who could get to me first. It didn't play out that way must of had a bunch of hens in the area because they moved off after about an hour. I had a decision to make move or stay put, knowing how well they gobbled that morning surely one of them would come back and check the area
out later on. I had a bottled water and a pack of crackers to get me through the morning so I stayed put. about 10:15 the crows started up here we go I picked up my slate and scratched out a couple clucks and light purrs and sat it down and waited. after about 30 to 45 minutes the crows shut up and I never saw anything so I figured they must of been on a hawk or something. Well I layed my head back against the tree and shut my eyes and boom I heard spittin and drummin I got nervous because I didn't have my gun ready. This went on for about 10 minutes I was scared to move because I didn't know where he was at. Finally I see him to my right struttin in and I was able to get my gun up when he went behind a tree and the rest is history.
