Can anybody tell me what they know about comp n choke tubes and if you do would they be good in my 870 and if they would which one. Thanks

R AJ

The C-N-C was designed around Winchester HV #6 loads. I have one for a 12 and 20 gauge and both have very good patterns at 30 yards for the 20 and 40 for the 12. I do recommend that you try the Winchester loads in #5 or #6 lead shot. The porting of the choke is not favorable for the FC wad in Federal shells and the maker does not  recommend any HTL loads other than Win Xtended Range loads citing the softer shot as the reason for using them.

I have a .665 CC I use in my 870 with Win ext range #6 it consistantly patterns in the low to mid 90%. :OGturkeyhead:

Kick's and C-N-C are the same folks.  I think the Kick's is the best for the hunting and C-N-C is the best of the two for wing/clay shooting.
Tell us just how dead do you want them to be and we will see if we can get that for you.

I don't know about how they'd do in an 870, but the Comp-n-Choke XXXFull (.670, I think) was the best choke I tried in my BPS with lead.

Back when I owned a Browning Gold 3.5" semi the Comp-nChoke .675 was the best choke I found for lead loads.  I even shot some Remington Hevi-Shot through it a few times and it shot great patterns.  I know they now say don't do this.
